Welcome to Whirrakee Woodware

About Us

A Short History

Whirrakee Woodware was founded in 2005 by Steve Williamson a local bee keeper, who has used his knowledge of the industry, to develop durable and functional products, that would survive the rigours of the Australian environment, and last for years to come. The Acacia Williamsonii is commonly known as the Whirrakee Wattle, and this is where our name comes from. Quality, and customer satisfaction have been synonymous with our brand throughout it’s history, and new owners Pete and Ali are devoted to continuing this tradition.

Our new manufacturing site and outlet in Maryborough, is located just next to Whirrakee Rise estate! a sure sign that we are in the right place!

We have a large and well-known presence in the bee keeping industry Australia wide.  We are one of Australia’s largest bee keeping material supplier, ensuring that we have buying power.

Peter comes from a 30 year background in the building industry. Founding his own company early on, he has worked for himself his whole life, and has acquired the knowledge and business acumen, to successfully run, and grow a small business. Specialising in domestic renovations and new dwellings, he is no stranger to finding custom solutions to a clients needs. He has been a hobbyist beekeeper since 2013 in Port Melbourne.
